Reco Reco / güiro made from bamboo wood

Traditional, handmade wooden güiro, particularly popular in Capoeira. Soft sound that goes well with other wooden instruments such as agogo de castanha, berimbau, atabaque and pandeiro. A familiar instrument in Latin percussion, the small percussion instrument has grooves that are scrubbed with a hard wooden stick to create rhythmic elements.

The instrument is made from the individual limbs of a raw bamboo tree and is left almost natural. The style is deliberately kept rustic and natural by the instrument makers, so there may be minor variations in weight and size.
