4 days music from all over the world, dance, street festival and the grand and colourful parade with loads of Samba, Samba Reggae, Maracatu, but also many other international music styles parading through Berlin for 9 hours!

Carnival of cultures
4 days of music, dance, joy and party - the carnival of cultures has been a mayor event for world music and diversity of cultures since 1996 on each Pentecost weekend. Culture has  many faces at this festival: culinary delights as well as colourful costumes and masks, dance, music and street theatre. The Carnival of cultures is a magnet for hundred thousands of people each year and is an institution of festivals in Germany´s capital.

The parade
On Whitsun Sunday the huge colourful and glittering parade starts in Berlin´s center at Hermannsplatz and goes all the way the Yorckstraße showing all the cultural diversity Berlin offers. Each group participating at the parade picks their own topic which they design individually.

Samba groups, Rio Style and Samba Reggae, Maracatu an many other international music styles are the heart of the parade. Colourful masks, fantasy costumes, huge figures, decorated floats and more than 5000 performers prove that Berlin is a metropolis of inventiveness, creativity and diversity.


The street party

4 days programm on 4 stages, drummers, 350 sales booths, bands, DJs, street theatre - all around the Blücherplatz park you can relax and enjoy the festival, dance, eat, drum or do whatever you like, party out or enjoy the batucadas.
