Samba Reggae intermediate - workshop

Samba Reggae intermediate - workshop
Bad Wildungen, 27th-29th of march 2015

Mestre: Detlef von Boetticher, Hamburg, Germany

Join us for a Samba Reggae Workshop and the music of some mayor blocos of Salvador da Bahia! The workshop is based on the material taught last year and deals with grooves, breaks and choreographic elements connecting performance and rhythms!

The main focus is on the timbals, but of course there´ll be lessons for traditional bloco instruments like repinique, caixa and surdo (fundo and dobra).

Our special guest instructor is a well known mestre from Hamburg, Detlef von Boetticher (Jan Delay, Nena, Sam Ragga Band,…) who is also the bandleader of Germany´s largest bloco Fogo do Samba. Being one of Germany´s pioneers of Brazilian music, v. Boetticher connects tradition and own elements to an explosive and very individual performance, wich Fogo do Samba is known for. He works as a teacher and coach all over Germany and also taught a large bloco at the Samba Syndrom in Berlin last autumn.

The workshop is for percussionists that already play in Samba groups and that have at least 2 years of experience with their instrument, so it is an intermediate course.

If there are more than 60 registrations, a second teacher will be helping in order to make section teaching possible.
