BATEBATUKE FESTIVAL IN GALICIA!
The first BATEBATUKE festival took place seven years ago as an end-of-year celebration of our percussion school ‚Prucupa’.
The festival was a great success and kept growing so we began to look for a place in the city of Santiago de Compostela, a beatiful city on the Galician Atlantic coast, as well as in the national percussion scene.
Being very active in the scene, we got much publicity and many new fans, we gave professional workshops and made tasty cookout meals at the get-togethers that TROPICO DE GRELO´S Association organize.
To our workshops we usually invite great and wellknown international mestres like Mario Pam (Ilê Ayê), Javier Iglesias (Sambiosis) and other popular mestres from Galicia´s musical scene like Roi Adrio or mestres of our own Tropico de Grelos.
The festival has gained popularity within the last years and offers a large entertainment range like spanish, traditional but also experimental percussion bands, Mandinga afro percussion, clown performances and many others all of which making it a reference percussion festival all over Spain.
This year we offer a workshop and an all-over-the-city parade with mestre Moises Lama (Brazil), different performances during the afternoon and night, and of course loads of great bands like Galinke, Batucada Naranco, Surdópatas, Ménage à Trois, Resueltas, Xenderal Gentebeat, Fenomenos do Eume.
All - of course - in a cool athmosphere and at a low prices!
Come and party with us!
