14" Samba Reggae caixas with extra wide snare wires - by Ivsom
These are real Samba weapons - Ivsom's new 14" Samba Reggae snare drums: Their distinctive design with yellow galvanised hardware stands out amongst other brands, and the rods screwed flush into the brackets are a detail that sets Ivsom drums apart. Ivsom's rods do not have slots; instead, the lug is screwed directly into the bracket. This way, nothing sticks out and it looks neat, too.
Samba Reggae Snare 14" made of aluminium with fixed snare wires (no lifting mechanism)
Caixas form an important contrast to the other instrument sections in every Samba or Samba Reggae group. As an experienced caixa player, Ivsom therefore knows exactly what is important when it comes to building his drums. The so-called white sound supports the musical construct and is clearly audible from outside the bateria, so a balanced caixa sound is a component that plays an important role in your Samba combo. The 14" size with locked snare wires is typical for Brazilian snares. Together with the diameter, the type of metal, the thickness of the shell and the skins used, the height of the resonance body (= shell) determines the sound structure of the instrument. Ivsom has chosen proven standard dimensions, but supplemented them with an extra wide set of snare wires.
The new caixas are available in aluminium or, for those who like it "authentic and dirty", in sheet steel. Powerful sounding snares perfect for Samba Reggae and Afro Blocos. Full, voluminous and present sound with typical Ivsom style in golden hardware.
