Cuica 10'' x 30cm - galvanised sheet steel

Having one or more cuicas in the bateria is great - there's no doubt about it! Sheet steel sounds more powerful than aluminium, but is also heavier. The rustic, powerful sound is popular in large baterias, and sheet steel is also cheaper to produce than aluminium. 10" cuicas offer a wide sound spectrum and have a lower base tone than cuicas with a smaller diameter. Sheet steel becomes matt over time.
