Summer and autumn festivals across Europe! If you missed the Sambanale, the Coburg Samba Festival, the MegaSamba and the Brasil Fest in Brno, you'll have plenty of opportunities to party at some awesome Samba events in the coming weeks!
The Hartberg Samba Festival is up next, taking place this weekend in beautiful Styria (the region was spared from the floods btw, so you can travel there without any problems and the weather forecast is excellent!) In autumn, Cascais (near Lisbon) invites you to their Encontro de Batucadas - Nice Groove Festival. The Senario Samba School in Lyon, France, celebrates its birthday in September and welcomes international guests to its Samba So Good celebration party. In Logroño (La Rioja), in the beautiful northeast of Spain, diversity and inclusion is featured prominently during their Samba Festival. With dedicated youth work in the Samba genre and a large LGBTQ parade and workshops, host band K-boom Percusión is once again celebrating their IV edition of the get-together event Concentración de Batucadas over multiple days. Kalango, by the way, is proud supporter of this event! The Nijmegen Sambafestival in the Netherlands is a top tip for sambistas who are hungry for a full workshop load - this festival is definitely not lacking in diverse courses! In September and October, Leandro Barsotti from G.R.E.S Estação Primeira de Lanus in Buenos Aires is touring Europe to give Rio Samba workshops. Later in the year, Munich's brand new Samba School Praias do Isar will be inviting the European Samba scene to celebrate their first anniversary.
