Super high tuning, clear and smacky slaps, strong and full opens, deep and warm bass tones - the hardwood timbal endures a lot and gives back even more. Timbra is still quite a newcomer brand but have managed to create a high-end professional timbal line. In the last couple of years, many axé-pop bands but also quite some blocos have been following the trend of high-pitching their timbals to the limit. Then somebody had the clever idea to spread the higher force impact on the shell by using more tuning hooks. This was the cornerstone for a new trend: the timbal is made of strong hard-wood, on its inside 3 additional enforcement rings on different levels of the shell are placed. The body is now built exactly for its purpose of extreme pitching, which would not be possible with a traditional timbal. The timbal is of great workmanship on its inside and outside.
More material (tension hooks, reinforcement elements) naturally mean more weight, which won´t matter anyway if you put the timbal in a stand and play stage gigs. The sound is worth every gramme!
This timbal is a jewel, a feast for percussionists and music lovers, it is robust, well manufactured and original Bahian style - it has all it takes to enter new musical areas in Brazilian style-, Jazz-, Pop- or World music bands.

In 2010, IZZO managed to pull off a remarkable milestone by lancing their high-end show brand TIMBRA TOP PERCUSSION.
All TIMBRA Samba instruments have been developed in close cooperation with renowned percussionists. The objective was to create convincing series of instruments with great sound, optically outstanding and adecuate for stage gigs. Especially the timbals, made of either wood or aluminium, set new standards with their 16 tuning hooks, extraordinary design and spectacular sound.
TIMBRA builds all kinds of Samba instruments from wood and aluminium surdos, cuicas, rebolos to tantans and timbals. A special eye-catcher was one of the brand's first lines - the Carlinhos Brown Signature Series with timbals and bacurinhas with elaborate colour prints and designs on vinyls. High-quality workmanship, authentic sounds and flashy designs are still the main trademarks of TIMBRA.

Excellent sound - much warmer and less pingy than aluminium. The drum is well made and looks brilliant.
