A favourite among our compact pandeiros: affordable, hand-made with classy sound characteristics and beautiful finish. 9" is the perfect size for pandeiristas with smaller hands or players who like it extra light. Georg Pandeiros is a small workshop that makes beautiful pandeiros in São Gonçalo do Rio das Pedras in Minas Gerais. Georg Joos, a German carpenter and accomplished pandeiro maker, lives in Brazil and builds these very high quality pandeiros with great and versatile sound. We are thrilled about the combination of European luthier work and Brazilian understanding of building and the authentic sound qualities that a pandeiro in this range must provide. All skins are medium thick and hand-picked, they vibrate well, are low in overtones yet don't sound too muffled, either and have beautiful basses as well as a variety of sound characteristics that can be found anywhere across the Brazilian music genre. Georg pandeiros are particularly eye-catching as they come with a multi-layered frame of dark Imbuia wood and light Pinheiro wood. The jingles are handmade of high-quality brass, each with an interleaf cut our of brass. The artisan flatrim is made of stainless steel and fits perfectly on the skin, which is chosen individually and with great care. With only 350 g, this model is one of our ultra-light pandeiros with exceptional sound characteristics especially for Samba Choro and MPB music but of course also for all other styles where a pandeiro can be seen and heard.

Georg Joos is a carpenter and luthier from Germany who lives in the beautiful region of Minas Gerais in Brazil where he builds his pandeiros. To make a traditional Brazilian musical instrument based on German craftsmanship is a perfect match. With precision and attention to detail Georg makes absolutely incredible instruments in his workshop in Minas and uses only the finest materials for authentic sound. From the tension hook to the interleaves, everything is thought-out, lightweight, visually beautiful and of high quality. He hand-picks the skins, each instrument is handmade down to the last detail. An extraordinary combination of European craftsmanship and the understanding of Brazilian culture, music and tradition make his pandeiros unique in our assortment. German-made in Brasil.
