Choro Pandeiro 11'' - the top modell by Contemporanea!

You have big hands and are searching for fuller and more voluminous sound than a 10'' provides? This superlight 11'' pandeiro with top sound might be what you are looking for!
Superlight pandeiros have a differently contructed type of tension hoop: it is made of flat material. The skin is pulled over a piece of wire and not pressed into a ring like usually, that saves weight! The 5 pairs of jingles are made of strong brass producing the Choro-typical tinkling sound. Each pair has a thin brass interleaf inbetween. The transparently varnished wood frame is ornamented with handmande inlay ornaments looking especially beautiful with the gold-plated tension hooks and and nicely picked hide heads.
Light pandeiros are especially suitable for playing the Marcos Suzano technique!
A light pandeiro is a good choice for pandeiristas of any level! If you are just starting to play the pandeiro, your muscles will have to build up in order to hold the pandeiro in the right playing position. With a too heavy pandeiro you will lose your motivation soon and holding it is very tiring. Advanced players and professional percussionists have a stable technique and can take full advantage of a light instrument!
A very aesthetic high quality pandeiro with great sound and excellent design - all in all a very successful pandeiro!

CONTEMPORÂNEA in Brazil

This brand has a long tradition and good reputation in Brazil. Intensive contact to the musicians has always been an important part of their business strategy. They not only sell instruments, but mainly live their music. Every Saturday morning, many musicians meet up in CONTEMPORÂNEA´S music shop in the historic center of São Paulo. In a special back room, musicians of every age play Choro. The pagodeiros meet up in front of the shop for playing their sessions. Many of São Paulo´s smaller and larger Samba schools play CONTEMPORÂNEA instruments.

CONTEMPORÂNEA in Europe

Also in Europe CONTEMPORÂNEA is a popular brand which you sometimes even find in drum- and percussion shops that don´t have so much to do with Samba.

Instruments

CONTEMPORÂNEA has two lines: CONTEMPORÂNEA LIGHT and CONTEMPORÂNEA PRO.

The instruments of the LIGHT line are made of matt aluminium. Kept in a simple design and not being polished, the LIGHT line can be offered at a lower price and without suffering quality loss in terms of sound or durability. The robust PRO line is made of polished aluminium or wood.

Compared to other brands that also use aluminium for building instruments, CONTEMPORÂNEA instruments made from aluminium stand out by being built of thicker material which provides a massive sound to repinique, caixa and surdo, but therefore also a higher weight.
