Beautifully manufactured superlight pandeiro from South Brazil! The basic version craftworked by Fabiano Raposa is optically as well as sound-technically an extraordinary instrument! Like all his pandeiros, the fine and extremely light frame is made of valuable wood. The basic modell has machine-made brass jingles with an interleaf inbetween each pair of jingles. A hand-selected goatskin is a further gusto for your eyes and ears, and of course the chromed flatrim. Using flatrim tension hoops on pandeiros makes it possible to build very light instruments. The skin is not pressed into a metall ring like usually but wrapped around a piece of wire which saves weight! Also a pandeiro built with the flatrim technique is comfortable to hold because there is no hoop in the way standing over the top. The flat metall fits nicely in your hand and also looks good! The hook-brackets are screwed to the frame.
A beautifully crafted lightweight pandeiro with a clear, balanced jingle sound!

FABIANO RAPOSA´s workshop is based in Florianopolis, the south of Brazil.
His pandeiros are handcrafted in artisanal processes and are of very high quality.
You can see that the pandeiros are made with great accuracy and an exceptional affection to details. For the instrument´s frame, different types of precious woods are being used. Later, the sound characteristics are highly influenced by the choice of the wood.
Last but not least the choice of the skin is made by strict criterias. Alltogether this is what makes the sound of those instruments unique, fine and clear.
The basic idea behind RAPOSA is that it is more fun to play on good and pretty instruments and therefore it is also easier to make good music.
