Legset for surdos - for all brands

For self-assembly!
Practical, always with you, quickly assembled and stable!
3 metal feet are mounted on the shell and can be adjusted in the right height for you. If at some occasion you don't want to use the legset, e.g. because you want play at a parade, you can simply pull the legs out of the clamps and attach them again later.

Buying a bag for a surdo with legsets:
If you want to use a legset on your surdo, we recommend to order your instrument bag one size up, as a legset increases the diameter of your surdo.

Self-assembly instructions:
The assembly requires some technical knowledge, but with some planning and suitable tools you can do it yourself. The shell must be drilled at 3 positions. In order to determine the exact positions, please consider beforehand where exactly and how the legs will fit. For example, there mustn't be any of the lugs in the way. The height must also be determined beforehand. For drilling, the surdo needs to be completely dismantled; please remove both heads, rims and all tension rods. Mark the places where you want to insert the legset clamps and drill the perforations. Then simply place the clamps on the shell and screw the nuts to the brackets from the inside. When all three brackets are attached, you can push the legs through, adjust them to the height you want and you're all ready to go.
Total length of legs: 73cm

You would rather not do the assembling yourself? No problem, we'll do it for you - just add the assembly service!

GOPE is a family-run business from the area around São Paulo. Today the company is being run in its third generation by the grand daughter of the firm´s founder.

The brand GOPE has been producing drums and smallpercussion instruments for over 50 years now. When the company was founded, there was already a small workshop in which drumsets were manufactured.

In 1962, the production of the typical Samba instruments began, iniciated by Humberto Rodella, the son of the founder. The company kept growing and after several relocations in São Paulo, GOPE finally found the right place for building a large production hall in Embu Guaçu, a suburb of São Paulo.

gope-expoSince then GOPE produces in Embu Guaçu everything from the Agogô to the Zabumba, a wide range of percussion instruments, and only recently also various wind instruments.

GOPE has always kept in close touch with the musicians. The ideas and proposals for modifications that they received from many of those contacts, have always had much influence in the development of new instruments and improvement of production.
