Cavaquinho with wide fingerboard, ideal for people switching from the guitar: beautifully crafted acoustic cavaquinho LUTHIER made of solid woods with an open-pore finish, includes a semi-case - APC top model

The musicians among you who come from the guitar and want to learn cavaquinho often find the narrow Brazilian fingerboards and the steep hand position particularly difficult to master. For this reason, APC has built a model with 6mm more nut width, which may not seem like much at first glance, but has quite an impact in terms of playing comfort. The narrow string action is thereby eased up and the changeover to the smaller instrument is easier.

The acoustic cavaquinho Luthier is APC's top model, made of solid woods and brings a particular richness of sounds to every Samba. Their small Samba ukuleles are beautifully crafted with dark Pau Santo back and the contrast of the light solid spruce top. Selected woods for powerful, guitar-like sound with soft lows and punchy, singing highs. This little companion immediately raises your Samba profile to another level. Striking: the open-pore finish, a thin layer of lacquer that exposes the deep natural pores of specific tonewoods and emphasises the grain. The finish preserves the natural acoustic properties of tonewoods in a similar way to oils, but offers much better protection and looks very classy in a more natural way.

Acoustic cavaquinhos are especially suitable if you play in smaller ensembles. Excellent sound qualities go particularly well with vocals and the more classical genres. If you are looking for an unamplified cavaco of great craftsmanship that you will love for many years to come and that has excellent sound qualities, this model could be just right for you. High-quality, well thought-out design, good mechanics, stylish finish and brilliant sounds that are particularly resonant due to the solid woods. The cavaquinho comes with semi-soft case, soft padded transport protection with backpack straps, support handle and separate plectrum compartment.

Almost half a century of luthier tradition has gone into this small, high-quality crafted cavaquinho made in Portugal. APC specialises in Portuguese stringed instruments, their focus is on high quality standards and excellent sound. But also optically this model can show itself. Soft, warm, local woods and the luthier experience of a family business have resulted in a series of instruments that can really be seen and heard.

"APC"

Handmade quality cavaquinhos from Portugal, beautifully finished and made in Europe

Born in 1951, António Pinto Carvalho, founder of APC Instrumentos Musicais, opened his company in 1976 with the aim of producing high quality stringed instruments.

Already at the tender age of 10, António Pinto Carvalho began to learn the art he still devotes himself to today. Guided and inspired by his grandfather, he built the first cavaquinhos and guitars. Today he is one of the most famous guitar makers in Portugal, the company is still in the hands of his family.

With around 50 employees, APC is the largest national company in this field and produces and sells a wide range of instruments worldwide. Despite its traditional background, the company invests in the latest technology and strives for the greatest possible accuracy and precision in the manufacturing of string instruments. However, the irreplaceable work of a luthier remains important, turning every instrument into a unique piece and defining its beauty and sound. The symbiosis between 19th century craftsmanship and today's technology is the key to the quality and authenticity of every APC instrument.

APC Instrumentos Musicais stands for Portugal's reputation for string instrument making, a country as rich in chords and sound scapes as the string instruments themselves. Genuine Portuguese culture and tradition.
